Ring magnets have a unique polarization because the north and south poles can be segmented in a variety of ways, but always alternate around the ring. This means the poles can be in half, quarter, or even eighths.

Ring Magnet Features & Characteristics
Ring magnets are flat (the diameter exceeds the thickness), circular in shape and have a hole in the center. They are not quite as strong as some of their disc counterparts due to having less magnetic volume, but the hollow center makes them quite versatile, as they can easily slide onto rods and tubes.
Available Grades for Ring Magnets
Neodymium ring magnets come in grades ranging from N30 to N35. Grade 5 ceramic ring magnets are available as well.
